Flint Hills Underground was started by three sons who grew up in the gas distribution world. Their father has worked in gas distribution for more than 45 years. Even as young children, they were exposed to many aspects of the gas distribution industry. Through this exposure all three sons have found a passion for many aspects of the industry.

Jake, Tom, and Josh were able to see first hand how to integrate family and also build a very successful life. He had a big impact on all of us and was a great role model. One of the many lessons he helped us learn is all you have is your name and reputation.

Through watching all his success, we all decided to follow in his footsteps and also take our own paths. The three sons have worked for a variety of companies and taken on a variety of roles accumulating more than 75 years of combined experience.

OUR SUCCESS BEGINS WITH OUR EMPLOYEES

Josh Wallin

Josh started as a Laborer right out of high school and continued on working all way through the ranks. Some of the positions he worked early in his career included Fitter, Operator, and Foremen. Later in his career he worked as a Superintendent. During that time he managed the needs of up to10-12 crews at any given time. After spending some time in the Superintendent role he decided to make a change as he wanted to start his own company. Through all of this his focus remains on employees and customer service.

Tom Wallin

Tom started in distribution similar to his brothers. He too saw the value of working his way through the ranks starting as a Laborer then moving into other roles including Fitter, Operator, Driller, Welder, and Foreman. While Tom also spent many years in the distribution field he also has much experience in the transmission world. In both fields has experience in locations all over the United States. He was a transmission welder for close to 20 years. After gathering many years of experience in both the field of transmission and distribution Tom also decided to become part owner in Flint Hills Underground.

Jake Wallin

Jake started his career in gas distribution while still in high school by painting gas meters for a dollar a meter. He also begin working through different positions similar to his brothers starting as a Laborer. Jake has worked his way through a variety of positions including Fitter, Operator, Drill Foreman and Gas Foreman. Jake had the opportunity to move around the country which allowed him to be exposed to many different customers within the Natural Gas field. Jake continued to work his way through the ranks until he was the Vice President of Operations. Jake saw an opportunity to join his brothers and is now also a part of the Flint Hills Underground family.
